Who can join goblue.vc?

Members of goblue.vc are University of Michigan alumni who are accredited investors. goblue.vc’s mission is to offer opportunities to alumni across industries, investment experiences, and grad years. Historically reserved for VCs and experienced Angel Investors, the opportunity for alumni to reap the rewards of Michigan’s unique ingenuity is now possible through goblue.vc.

What is an Accredited Investor?

An accredited investor, according to the SEC, is an individual with enough financial sophistication to invest in early-stage companies that are not covered by regulatory disclosure filings from the SEC. In order to invest venture deals, one must satisfy one of the following criteria:

Net worth over $1 million, excluding primary residence (individually or with spouse or partner)
Income over $200,000 (individually) or $300,000 (with spouse or partner) in each of the prior two years, and reasonably expects the same for the current year
Good standing with the SEC Series 7, Series 65, or Series 82 licenses

What is the cost of joining the network?

None! There are no joining fees, or investment requirements in order to receive exclusive investment opportunities with goblue.vc.

What does the process of joining a deal look like?

Approximately every quarter, goblue.vc will send its list of prospective investors a deal proposal that includes (i) company pitch deck (ii) goblue.vc’s diligence report (iii) a video 45-minute interview with the founder. Investors can evaluate the opportunity, ask any questions, and make a decision to invest or pass on the deal. To join the deal, an investment requires a minimum of $1000. Necessary administrative work will be managed by industry-standard Private Equity services. Alongside Sydecar, goblue.vc will provide professional-grade legal, tax, admin, reporting, and LP management.

goblue.vc seeks to build an investor network, and investment opportunities that reflect the diversity and breadth of the University of Michigan alumni community. The goblue.vc team curates deal flow from the University of Michigan’s most exciting companies across all industries at the stages of pre-seed through Series A.
